Active Transportation Implementation Grant Awards Announced
STAPLES, MN; MARCH, 2013 - Region Five Development Commission has announced the Active Transportation Grant awards in our region totaling $15,000. Each project will advance safe, healthy, non-motorized transportation, known as Active Transportation. Bicycle Safety Courses Available
The Traffic Skills 101 Course gives cyclists the confidence they need to ride safely and legally in traffic or on the trail. Through TS101, students learn how to conduct bicycle safety checks, fix a flat, and crash avoidance techniques. This class is recommended for adults and children above age fourteen. Read More
Community Profiling
Region Five received a Rural Community Development Initiative Grant from USDA to create community assest profiles for all 65 cities, Ojibwa Tribe and Camp Ripley. Read More
